8"x8" oil painting on gold-leafed panel. This buck spent last winter with me. When I would go outside and the does would do a quick pivot and take off, he would come closer. Often I had an apple for him, and perhaps he came to expect it, but he was beautiful and brave and gentle, and I think we were friends. He deserved to be painted like royalty.
