Seven Print
These are Winter Banana apples, collected from a friend's tree this fall, and arranged on a juniper knife rack made by my husband.
When I started unloading the big bin of apples we had picked, one in particular caught my eye, and I knew I had to paint it, so I set it aside. Then, I could clearly see the perfection in every next apple I picked up. I couldn't resist the intrinsic femininity of these forms, and the many layers of symbolism imbued in this most ordinary of fruit. A still life was set up, and this painting was made.
